CA Performance Management supports SD-WAN built using Cisco IWAN and Viptela

CA have released a new version of their CA Performance Management tool which supports both Cisco IWAN and Viptela SD-WAN environments.

“We can support both technologies in a multivendor agnostic fashion, giving our customers a consistent experience monitoring any vendor infrastructure.” – CA Press Release

The choice of the words multi-vendor in the phrase above is a bit moot, given the recent announcement that Cisco will acquire Viptela. CA, however, will be keen to extend their monitoring to cover other solutions in the future. CA’s Performance Management already covers SDN, NFV and Cisco’s ACI platform as well as traditional networks, so the extension to cover SD-WAN makes sense.
