SDxCentral: Cradlepoint launches new LTE-based SD-WAN capabilities

SDxCentral reports Cradlepoint have launched new LTE capabilities for LTE connected SD-WANCradlepoint have published their NetCloud OS Release 6.3, the software part of their NetCloud platform.

Cradlepoint focus on using LTE as primary or secondary link in a multi-path SD-WAN, and have added adaptive queuing to manage the differences in behaviours for links of different speeds, helping manage QoS for critical applications when the LTE bandwidth changes.

They also have Smart WAN Selection (SWANS), which avoids the use of synthetic transactions in measuring link performance, instead using pings and measurements from the modem to steer traffic and avoid consumption of the LTE data plan.

Client-side visibility has been added to help in understanding what devices are connected to both Ethernet and WiFi ports, to help in setting policies and troubleshooting.
