Engadget: Trojan uses a key internet feature to receive marching orders

Engadget is reporting on a trojan that is using DNS to pass information.

Whilst in Berlin at Cisco Live 2017, I learnt about Cisco‘s Talos security intelligence teams. They have published insight on a new way that systems are being compromised, carrying data using DNS traffic. Interesting reading and we’re going to see more ways in which the glue in the network is going to be a communications channel (for whatever purpose) in the future.
