Rackspace completes Datapipe acquisition

Yesterday Rackspace announced completion of its deal to acquire Datapipe. (Rackspace Announces Completion of Datapipe Acquisition)

We look at the deal when originally announced in September (Rackspace Announces Intent to Acquire Datapipe). There were some concerns about the largest merger in Rackspace’s history, particularly in relation to customer service. These concerns appear to still be there, as the phrase “begin the integration process .. in a planned way that maintains and enhances support levels for customers.” in the Rackspace blog shows.

“This acquisition demonstrates our commitment to become the world’s number one provider in IT as a service. Datapipe brings important new capabilities to Rackspace that will enable us to better serve customers, globally and at scale. Together, we will build on the industry leadership both companies established in expertise, reliability, security and support, to create a new level of end-to-end customer experience.”
