Frost and Sullivan place VeloCloud first by SD-WAN Global Market share

VeloCloud, after the recent announcement that VMware would buy them, has also been given another accolade. This time analysts Frost and Sullivan have announced that VeloCloud is in first place across the globe by market share. This follows Frost and Sullivan awarding a Best Practices Award last year for leadership in the North American SD-WAN sector.

According to their press-release, VeloCloud has 29.5% of the global market share. (Frost and Sullivan don't have anything on their website at this point.) The next largest vendor has 14.4% of the space, approximately half of VeloCloud's business. The overall market space is worth $300mn in 2017, and will grow at 38% CAGR for the next 5 years. North America represents the largest segment of the market (82%), with Europe at 10% and -Pacific at 8%. You can now understand why VMware wants a slice of this market.

“VeloCloud is the global SD- market leader with highest revenues and customer site deployments. VeloCloud's architectural vision and execution of a two-pronged strategy of addressing the needs of enterprises as well as service providers has paid rich dividends with over 50 service providers and 1000 enterprise customer wins.” – Roopa Honnachari, Industry Director Business Communication Services Practice, Frost & Sullivan

VeloCloud's CEO is obviously please with the announcement, stating:

“While many companies claim market leadership, we are pleased to see our industry leadership confirmed by another reputed research firm like Frost & Sullivan in this SD-WAN report. This designation is recognition of our clarity of vision, our winning strategy of cloud delivery, and our flawless execution on all fronts – including continuous product innovation, rapid expansion of our channel and distribution, superior marketing, world-class partnerships, and terrific customer service.” – Sanjay Uppal, CEO and co-founder, VeloCloud
