End-of-Life: Riverbed announces End-of-Life for Steelhead Mobile Controller

Riverbed has announced the End-of-Life for it’s first Steelhead Mobile Controller 8500, replacing it with the SMC8650, or the SMC-VE virtualised platform.
The SMC8650 supports 40 concurrent licenses, up from 30 in the previous model, and effectively moves the platform to the new hardware basis that Riverbed is using, as has been seen with the recent EOL announcements for other platforms in the Steelhead line.
