So today I needed to meet a colleague at a mutually convenient location between our two homes. He suggested a place that he’d been to in the last week or so with another of my new colleagues. So I set off to meet him at Chievely Services just off the M4, prior to taking to the lanes.

After rendezvousing at Chievely, we go just a few miles down the lanes following the new A34, through countryside that has been hacked about in order to lay the new road through it, and just under a bridge, we find the Fox and Hounds.
